The Chair of Manufacturing Technology is an integral part of the Faculty of Mechanical and Naval Engineering at the University of Rostock and is responsible for teaching the production and manufacturing technology modules in the bachelor’s and master’s programs. We work closely with the Chair of Joining Technology to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of all manufacturing processes.

Our collaboration with Fraunhofer IGP opens up the opportunity to integrate application-relevant research topics into our teaching. For example, staff from Fraunhofer IGP serve as guest lecturers at the Chair of Manufacturing Technology. Furthermore, through numerous lecturers from industry and other industry-related research centers at other universities, the Chair enables students to gain a current understanding of industrial implementation.

We offer students a wide range of interesting student projects (bachelor’s, master’s, and thesis projects). In particular, through our collaboration with Fraunhofer IGP, we can involve students in industry-relevant topics and establish a connection to the graduates’ future fields of work.
